Q. What is The Mentorship Institute?
A.

Bill Scott began this type of program almost seven years ago.  People from around the nation have come to see how it works and how it changes the lives of students that join us.  Students from around the world come and join Xtreme Youth Alliance for the Mentorship Institute for one full year.  The program runs August through the end of July.  This program will teach students the following.

  • Who they are in Christ
  • How to heal past pain in their life
  • How to become a godly leader
  • How to find God's calling on their life
  • How to reach their generation for God

This is  one full year where a student between the ages of 18-26 can live an Xtreme life for God!  This program is not for whimps but for those who are ready to be Xtreme in their faith.  This will be the best year and hardest year you have experienced.

Q. What will I be doing while I am there for a year?
A.

That is a great question.  You'll be very busy during your year at the Mentorship Institute.

  • You'll work our crisis hotline (Studenthopeline.com).  You'll have the chance to talk wtih students from around the world and with training you can help them with their faith.
  • You'll be working on our syndicated radio shows.  Xtreme Talk Live is heard throughout America.
  • You'll be working on Sound of Light our syndicated radio program that features the latest music and artists interviews.
  • You will have the chance to be a part of our team that works daily on our web site.  Writing stories and updating the site.
  • You will write Bible studies that will go out daily through email to students around the world.  Your impact on them through Christ will be awesome
  • You'll be invovled in many different Bible classes and leadership classes that all have to deal with real life and where you are at spiritually.  These classes are life changing.  You'll have the chance to be certified as a Christian Crisis Response Chaplin for the nations Christian Crisis Response Training Program.  Other classes include Old and New Testament survey, Caring for Teens God's Way, Spiritual Disciplines, Breaking Free, Couragious Living, Wild at Heart and Captivating.  These are just a few of the classes you'll be involved in.

Q. Where will I live when I am there?
A. You'll live in apartments that are very, very nice.  There are four to six students per apartment.  The apartments are two and three bedrooms.  The apartment complex has a wonderful club house, pool and work out facility.  You are within walking distance of our office.

Q. Do I need to bring a car?
A. Not everyone brings a car. You are welcome to bring transportation but it's not something you have to do. Bringing your car is up to you.

Q. Will I go on a mission trip?
A. Each spring or early summer a trip is planned to go out of the country so we can reach students one on one in their area.  Bill has taken students to South America, Central Amercia and Euroupe.  It's always a life changing trip for those who go.

Q. Where do we go to church?
A. Each student is welcome to go to the church of their choice.  The churches usually boil down to three or four that the students choose to attend.  Each Student is required to attend church on Sunday morning.

Q. Is there anything else I should know?
A. The Mentorship Institute program cost $785 per month, a total of $9420 for the full year.  At this point you might be blown a way but believe us, it's easier then you think to raise the support.  The cost of the program covers your food allowance, the apartment, curriclum, retreats, administrative expenses and even some fun events!  We realize this is a HUGE STEP OF FAITH.  If God wants you here he'll provide the money.  The Xtreme staff will work with you and teach you how to raise your support as a missionary.  It usually takes 25-35 people supporting you to raise your support.  Our slogan around here is, "Where God guides He provides."  DO NOT let the support you need scare you a way.

  • The Nation’s Christian Crisis Response Training Program
The Christian Crisis Response Chaplain Credential (CRC)

This new program prepares individuals to properly and adequately respond to a crisis of varied circumstances, whether it be in the church, workplace or civic arena and who yearns to come alongside those who are hurting.  Crisis, trauma and disaster represents both opportunity and danger – opportunity, to minister to those who are hurting, and danger, where pain and trauma strips us of our joy and can destroy a soul forever… sometimes for life. But, God is always in our trouble, and He has no greater plan than to work through his people as His conduit to tell his people that He will make a way. If you have meaningful influence in the life of another individual, either as a member of the local police force, ambulance/EMT, nurse, doctor, school teacher, pastor, therapist, or any position that involves the opportunity to provide Godly counsel, wisdom and care in a time of crisis, you must pursue this credential.  When the need arises during a local disaster or crisis, from teen suicide, car accident, terminal illness, fire, hurricane, tornado or various other times associated with the day to day disasters associated with this life, be prepared to offer the kind of Godly care and wisdom that comes with having achieved the CRC credential.

  • Caring for Teens God's Way

In a nation that claims to be very dedicated to teens, shamefully they are one of our most underserved populations. And with the exception of those adults who really care about today’s teens, they have no advocate. I love the quote from Fran Stott, “Every kid needs at least one person who is crazy about them.”

Featuring 30 cutting-edge lectures from some of the world’s best counseling experts, Caring for Teens God’s Way is designed to help us lead the way – to create an “army of leaders” who love and effectively care for teens in our homes, counseling centers, churches, communities and more.

  • Caring for People God's Way                                        Whether you teach a Sunday school class, are a stay-at-home mom counseling a lot of friends and family over the phone or a cup of coffee, or are an attending physician or nurse helping hurting individuals and families who need hope and healing every day whatever your occupation may be, this program is something that will really enable you to do great things as you serve people.

  • Godly Leadership 101                                                   National speaker, author, radio host will spend time teaching on what a godly leader looks like and how to walk as one.  Bill has over 25 years in the ministry and loves to pour into students who are ready to lead for their generation.

  • Wild at Heart

What does it mean to be a Christian man? Some guys think it means going to church every Sunday. Some think it's not doing anything wild. To be tamed. Some think it's being nice. The past few weeks, at church, we have been doing a mens study on this called Wild at Heart: A Band of Brothers and I have been pleasantly surprised with the reaction.  The guys at Xtreme will be walking through this life changing series together.

  • Captivating                                                                    Every woman was once a little girl. And every little girl holds in her heart her most precious dreams. She longs to be swept up into a romance, to play an irreplaceable role in a great adventure, to be the beauty of the story. Those desires are the secret to the feminine heart. Your longings and desires are telling you of the life God created you to live. He offers to come now as the Hero of your story, to rescue your heart and release you to live as a fully alive and feminine woman. The series starts out talking about the heart.  Each young lady at Xtreme will be going through this life changing series.

Tim Clinton and Gary Sibey will help you identify attachement styles, understand how they develop, and recongnaize how to create secure bonds with others and or break free from negative attachment patterns.  By doing so, you can enjoy a deepr, more fulfilling life with God and those you love, while becoming equipped to help other people do the saem through various care-giving opportunities.

  • Sexual Addictions                                                             This course covers how to assess the presence of asexual addiction in a person, including distinctions between male and female addicts.  It offers a five-deimension outline for healing and transformation including how to help the spouse of a sex addict - offering a message of hope for marital restoration.

  • Caring for Kids God's Way

In a nation that claims to be very dedicated to kids, shamefully they are our most underserved population. And with the exception of those adults who really care about children, they have no advocate. I love the quote from Fran Stott, “Every child needs at least one person who is crazy about them.”

Caring for Kids God’s Way is designed to help us lead the way – to create an “army of leaders” who love and effectively care for kids in our homes, counseling centers, churches, communities and more. When you look over the curriculum, I think you’ll agree it is one of our best programs ever.
